Control The Door!

One of the most important function of first due companies is to ensure the control of the door. Should a hoseline be caught under a door before charging and the door is closed this delays the application of water on the fire. Moreover, firefighter's can become trapped behind that door.

A Versatile, Must Have Tool

Glowedge works great in any number of ways to maintain that door control. Glowedge also glows thereby indicating to the firefighter conducting an aggressive search or advancing a hoseline, the exact location of that doorway the firefighter entered through. They are light and small and several can fit in the firefighters pocket or even better affixed to the firefighters helmet.

Simple to Use in Any Door

All the firefighter needs to do is quickly expose Glowedge to his flashlight and it will remain illuminated. If the firefighter keeps Glowedge in his helmet it will be exposed to enough light to keep it glowing for a while.

Once glowing, Glowedge can be placed in the jamb by the hinge, over the top of the door or under the door as traditional wedges are used. Glowedge even works on screen doors with piano hinges

Glowedge Has Your Back!

Glowedge stays there like a sentry keeping watch over the doorway, while at the same time pointing the way out.

Glowedges unique material and design allow it to be reused over and over and won't rot or fall apart like traditional wood wedges, it won't even crush under the weight of a heavy door. The design of Glowedge allows it to stay in place and maintains a positive connection when place in the jamb even if the door if bumped by firefighters going in and out of the structure.

Kept in the firefighters helmet, Glowedge even affords visibility to the firefighter. Ordinary reflective trim relies upon reflected light for the firefighter to be seen. Glowedge glows itself and doesn't rely upon a cars headlights to reflect from it.

Thermal Imager

The Glowedge can be seen using a thermal imager. Latent heat from charging allows the Glowedge to bee seen with a different heat signature than surrounding materials. The unique shape of the Glowedge makes it easily recognized in your viewfinder.
